The gardens of Annevoie

The Gardens of Annevoie were between 1758 and 1776 by Charles-Alexis de Montpellier designed and laid out. His son, Nicolas-Charles will go on at the end of the 18th century, while conserving the original lay out. The de montpellier family were in the 18th cenury the famous forge masters. The whole estate is a water garden with over twenty ornemental ponds end lakes fed by around fifty waterjets  Another original feature of the water at Annevoie is that it has been running constantly and without a break for over 230 years without use of machinery, thanks to the natural changes in level.
